OUR ENDEAVORS DELIGHTS WITH VALENTINE TO VAUDEVILLE

DALLAS – Hitch a ride to Anywhere, U.S.A., as Our Endeavors Theater Collective (OETC) celebrates the razzle-dazzle of the vaudeville era with its world premiere, The Last One-Nighter on the Death Trail, performing live on stage April 21 through May 14, 2005. Performances are every Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8:00 p.m. at Frank's Place (a ‘secluded speakeasy', tucked inside the Dallas Theater Center) located at 3636 Turtle Creek Blvd, Dallas, TX 75219. Ticket prices are $5 - $20, with a limited number of Opening Night Bargain Seats for only $5 on Thursday April 21st. Ringside, candle-lit tables may be reserved for an additional $5 per ticket. A convenient cash bar doles out illicit moonshine at every performance! Reservations and information: 214-327-4001 or www.ourendeavors.com.

Conceived by the madcap minds of the OETC Ensemble, The Last One-Nighter on the Death Trail is an original, musical vaudeville that follows the trials and tribulations of ‘The Disappointment Players', a wayward, small-time troupe of misfits taking what might be their final bow in an alley near Dallas' famed "Theater Row". Chock full of show-stopping spectacle, scintillating melodies, and unadulterated guilty pleasures, these colorful characters will stop at nothing as they dance and sing their way to the fame and fortune of ‘The Big-Time'.

Witness a dazzling display of sundry splendor designed to edify, amaze and uplift! Laugh a mile-a-minute with funnyman "Pudge" Goodman, whose bellyful of side-splitters and spit-takes bring yucks-a-plenty! Bump and grind with busty burlesque beauty, VaVa Veronica, whose irresistible ‘sax appeal' promises to blow more than your socks off! You'll flip through hoops over the fearless feats and daredevilry of Sampson and Delilah, the world famous French Poodle acrobats! Behold the ‘long lost' episode of the shadowy, exotic adventures of Fantomas! For the ladies, crooner Wallace Fairfax shares the seductive power of his ‘Silvery Moon'! And for one night only, we're proud to introduce you to Everyman's Everygal, Trixie True!

The Last One-Nighter on the Death Trail was inspired by Dallas' own "Theater Row", the popular stretch of Elm Street in Downtown that once held the last vestiges of local vaudeville houses. When times were hard and work was scarce, Dallas folks reveled in the trouble-free world of variety entertainment on display at places like The Majestic, The Rialto, The Capital, The Palace, and other popular venues in Dallas.

"I see parallels between our world today and that dark, confused time in the 30's, when the people in this country struggled to make their way in impossible situations," says director Christina Vela, "but escapist entertainment provided a nice diversion – a chance to glimpse a little bit of heaven in the movie houses, vaudeville, and burlesque shows."

Building on the success of 2003's Extreme Acts, and 1998's award-winning Ultra-Happy, Super-Sad, Mega-Variety Revue, OETC continues its tradition of staging Dallas' finest, original, short-form, musical entertainment.
